About RaceScan
Built by a runner who wanted a better way to find UK races
I’m Glenn, the person behind RaceScan. I created it because finding race information online often felt harder than it should be. Too many listings were outdated, too many entry links were unclear, and too many sites felt cluttered or built for everyone except runners actually trying to choose their next event.
RaceScan is my attempt to make race research simpler: clean listings, verified entry links, clearer entry status, and faster ways to compare UK events by distance, region and race characteristics.
I also log my own running on Strava, helping ensure RaceScan is built from real training and race experience.
10 years of running
I’ve been running for around a decade and know how much the right race can matter for motivation, training and confidence.
From 4:34 to 3:19
My first marathon was 4:34. Through consistent training and learning, I improved to 3:19. That journey shapes how I think about choosing races and what runners care about.
Coach + data mindset
I’m England Athletics qualified Coach in Running Fitness, and I’m also a qualified accountant. That combination means I love both the human side of running and the detail behind the data.
Why I built RaceScan
As a runner, I found that researching races often meant opening multiple tabs, checking whether events were still active, trying to work out if entries were really open, and clicking through sites that felt messy or incomplete.
I wanted a better experience: something cleaner, faster and more useful. A site where you can quickly scan the essentials, compare races easily, and feel more confident that the information is being looked after properly.
That is what RaceScan is aiming to become: a trusted place to find UK running events without the noise.
Why trust RaceScan
Built by an actual runner
RaceScan is not a generic listings site. It is being built by someone who trains, races and understands the difference between useful race information and clutter.
Coaching perspective
My coaching background helps shape the way RaceScan thinks about PB potential, beginner-friendliness, race suitability and the kind of details runners actually care about.
Data-first approach
My accountant background means I care about clean structure, consistency, accuracy and maintaining useful data rather than just publishing large volumes of listings.
Focused on quality
The aim is not to become the noisiest race site. It is to become one of the most useful and trustworthy.
The RaceScan mission
Make finding UK races easier, faster and more reliable for runners who want clear information without the clutter.
